The Farmacie Comunali of the city of Genoa, in partnership with the Associazione Gigi Ghirotti, organises the collection of unused pharmaceuticals to provide for the needs of those who would otherwise struggle to afford them. Through this project, Genoa's eight Farmacie Comunali distribute these "reused" pharmaceutical products.

Residual zinc from copper production is used by Grillo-Werke as a secondary raw material for zinc sulfate. Residues from this production - including copper, tin and lead - are then fed back to Aurubis.

A new creative ecosystem has been developed, which exceeds traditional sector boundaries, and in which one person’s waste is another’s commodity. The plant is expected to be fully operational in 2018.
