Eco-contribution is mandatory in France for the packaging industry, as an incentive for improving recyclability from the start. The Modulated Eco-Contribution Scale is an educational and financial incentive tool promoting the development of eco-design. In order to facilitate maximum recycling of paper fibres, manufacturers must adopt best practices and manage materials so as to preserve quality.

VinylPlus® is the renewed ten-year Voluntary Commitment to Sustainable Development by the European PVC industry. It was developed through dialogue with stakeholders. The scheme delivers concrete results in the use of additives, traceability, collection and recycling.

RichWater is a EU Horizon 2020 funded project which has provided an innovative technology for wastewater reuse in agricuture. An integrated approach combining treatment and irrigation in a single system enables taking maximum advantage of nutrients.

The BAMB project is an innovation action within the EU funded Horizon 2020 program.

BAMB will enable a systemic shift where dynamically and flexibly designed buildings can be incorporated into a circular economy. Through design and circular value chains, materials in buildings sustain their value – in a sector producing less waste and using less virgin resources.

Leading the way towards a circular fashion industry, the Mistra Future Fashion research program uses the expertise of the entirety of the textile value chain to highlight challenges and solutions to make fashion more sustainable. It publishes reports and peer reviewed articles that focus on how exactly this industry can be made more "circular".

Canon has been providing a toner cartridge recycling programme since 1990 for all Canon genuine all in one laser cartridges (Canon toner cartridges used in i-Sensys type machines). Today the official programme operates in 18 countries across Europe.

 The programme is free of charge to customers within selected geographies across Europe and has been designed to be easy to use to further encourage recycling, using web based systems where customers can download a free post return label.

The EU FP7 funded project R3Water “Demonstration of innovative solutions for Reuse of water, Recovery of valuables and Resource efficiency in urban wastewater treatment“ demonstrated solutions to support the transition from being purely a wastewater treatment plant using energy and chemicals, towards a resource facility delivering different valuables.

The city of Almere, working together with local stakeholders and the company Millvision, has developed an innovative circular economy partnership. The aquatic plant is a local and renewable input to the production of the paper but it also "circular" as something that would be discarded as waste is re-valued as a raw material used in production.

SYMBI project will contribute to improve the implementation of regional development policies and programmes related to the promotion and dissemination of Industrial Symbiosis and Circular Economy.

Cities of Making addresses the challenge of re-industrialisation in urban areas, where circular economy will have a key role. The project aims at developping a toolkit for policy makers to promote urban manufacturing in a transition economy.
