Yoyo is a French start-up that has developed an innovative behavioural change approach to enhance recycling in communities.
They do this by connecting participants and coaches, who distribute orange sorting bags to “sorters”. Sorters earn points by bringing the recycling bags to their coach, who records the bag they have received on a platform. The coach will also earn points after Yoyo collects the bags and takes them to a recycling facility. These points can be used to purchase rewards, such as cinema tickets, donations to charities or eco-friendly items.
The Yoyo initiative also aims to promote community connections by creating local events between coaches and sorters from different neighbourhoods.
