Billy Tannery is a micro-tannery creating value by reusing goatskins - that would otherwise go to waste - to make leather products.

Working with their partners Cabrito Goat Meat, the company aims to ensure that dairy billies have a value.

All Cabrito kids are a by-product of the dairy industry and would have in the past been euthanized shortly after birth, because male goats are considered useless by the dairy industry. This is not justified according to Cabrito, who now has a network of farms producing high quality meat from a previously wasted resource.

Billy Tannery, on its part, uses Cabrito kid skins to design and produce a range of leather goods – from bags to purses, pouches and caps – in a small-batch tannery built in a converted farm building.
