The ECESP Annual Conference - our flagship event for stakeholders to exchange and network

Every year since 2017, with a couple of exceptions, the European circular economy community - from businesses, public authorities and NGOs to knowledge communities and other civil society organisations - has been meeting in Brussels during the two-day Circular Economy Stakeholder Conference to discuss the transition to a circular economy.

The Conference is the flagship event of the European Circular Economy Stakeholder Platform, a joint initiative of the European Commission and the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC).

The first day of the Conference, hosted by the Commission (DG RTD and DG ENV), focuses largely on progress made in implementing current EU legislation on the circular economy and on legislation which is still in the pipeline.

The second day, hosted by the EESC, takes a more interactive approach and is largely dedicated to discussions among stakeholders and high-level representatives of the EU institutions on promoting the dissemination of good practices via knowledge sharing and dialogue. Special emphasis is placed on good practices aiming to remove barriers to the circular economy in specific sectors, like textiles, construction, packaging, food and beverages, and procurement.
