Description

Coolrec, part of Renewi, is an innovative recycling company. It has begun working with companies to contribute to the circular economy through various recycling projects. As a circular enabler, they promote the reuse of raw materials. They aim to resolve the global issue of scarcity of raw materials, reach the climate objectives including reducing carbon emissions, and participate in creating a more sustainable world.

Coolrec has launched a project with two Dutch household goods chains: Blokker and Marskramer. During Tefal Swap Weeks, they offer customers a 20% discount on new Tefal frying pans when they return old ones. Coolrec processes the pans collected and harvests the plastic and metal as raw materials for new products. Even the plastic grips are recycled.

Main results

In 2018, 31 000 kg of old frying pans were donated and turned into new resources.
