The project entitled LOOP-Ports – Circular Economy Network of Ports is organising its final conference on 16 December 2020 in order to disseminate its results. The focus will be on the analysis of the barriers faced by the actors of maritime-port sector when implementing the circular economy in their strategies.

The project is coordinated by the Fundación Valenciaport and funded by the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) through the EIT Climate-KIC initiative. Its main goal is to facilitate the transition to a more circular economy in the port sector, where products, materials and resources are maintained in the economy for as long as possible, and the waste generation minimised.

This network of ports facilitates the exchange of experiences and good practices, provides policy recommendations and fosters the training as well as new business opportunities both in port clusters and other industries related to this environment.
