Information sharing, transparency and collaboration have been widely recognised as essential catalysts for a circular economy. To use one company’s ‘waste’ as ‘food’ for another, stakeholders need to access the right information at the right time. Information sharing often risks a stakeholder’s competitive advantage. Circularise develops an open communication protocol using blockchain technology.
The EU-funded SwitchMed Programme supports and connects stakeholders to scale-up social and eco-innovations in the Mediterranean. It promotes inclusive growth, job creation and sustainable development by supporting policy makers, eco-innovative small and medium sized enterprises, industries, start-ups and entrepreneurs in the Southern Mediterranean countries.
The EU-funded SwitchMed Programme supports and connects stakeholders to scale-up social and eco innovations in the Mediterranean.
CIRC-PACK project aims at more sustainable, efficient, competitive, integrated and interconnected plastic packaging value chain with less fossil fuel dependence.
Skaff Dairy Farm is a small-sized enterprise producing around 840 t of dairy products annually for the local market. Skaff Dairy Farm joined the MED TEST II project in order to improve quality and reduce defects, to drive out waste and continuously improve cost efficiency. The main problems the company faced was energy and finished products losses.
The WISER project impacts positively upon behavioural change in relation to resource efficiency and reuse principles. Through its activities WISER raises awareness relating to resource consumption and waste generation building upon pilot project activities of the Rediscovery Centre that hosts 4 social enterprises (upcycling paints, furniture, fashion and bicycles).
The aim of LIFE GREEN SINKS project was to create a new "green" range of products, represented by innovative kitchen sinks manufactured by 100% recovered materials.

SCREEN is a Horizon 2020 project covering 17 European regions.
It aims at defining a replicable systemic approach towards a transition to Circular Economy in EU regions within the context of the Smart Specialization Strategy. The project also deals with the identification and implementation of operational synergies between investments in research and innovation under Horizon 2020, the Structural Funds and the European Investment Funds.
From waste water to RichWater, an innovative technology for combining treatment and reuse in agriculture
RichWater is a EU Horizon 2020 funded project which has provided an innovative technology for wastewater reuse in agricuture. An integrated approach combining treatment and irrigation in a single system enables taking maximum advantage of nutrients.
The BAMB project is an innovation action within the EU funded Horizon 2020 program.
BAMB will enable a systemic shift where dynamically and flexibly designed buildings can be incorporated into a circular economy. Through design and circular value chains, materials in buildings sustain their value – in a sector producing less waste and using less virgin resources.
The EU FP7 funded project R3Water “Demonstration of innovative solutions for Reuse of water, Recovery of valuables and Resource efficiency in urban wastewater treatment“ demonstrated solutions to support the transition from being purely a wastewater treatment plant using energy and chemicals, towards a resource facility delivering different valuables.
SYMBI project will contribute to improve the implementation of regional development policies and programmes related to the promotion and dissemination of Industrial Symbiosis and Circular Economy.
The main objective of SEA-MATTER is to demonstrate and validate the reuse of coastal algae and seaweed accumulations as raw materials in composites industry.
BREAD4PLA is a project conducted by a consortium of four European organisation led by AIMPLAS.

The GtoG project has put in place an integrated approach to construction and demolition waste by holistic management, starting from the major refurbishment/demolition sites to the reincorporation of the recycled gypsum in the manufacturing process via the processing of gypsum waste as a secondary raw material
Until now, the data on CRMs has been produced by a variety of actors and lies scattered in different databases, formats and reports which makes it difficult to compare or aggregate. The ProSUM project - Latin for ‘I am useful’ - aims at producing the EU Urban Mine Knowledge Data Platform (EU-UMKDP) providing user friendly, seamless access to data and intelligence on mineral resources from extraction to end of life products. The project will be addressed to a wide range of end-users, including the recycling industry, producers and producer compliance schemes, and policy makers.
