CPNL 2026 Open Call for projects addressing bottlenecks in recycling plastics, textiles and rubber in the Netherlands
The Circular Plastics Netherlands 2026 Open Call for recycling and circularity of plastics has been issued by the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Policy and is implemented by the Netherlands Enterprise Agency. It is intended for partnerships working on innovation and upscaling (from a proven concept to a working facility) in the recycling and circularity of plastics, including textiles and rubber.
The call focuses on projects that help address bottlenecks in the Netherlands in the area of innovation and scaling up and contribute to improved recycling of waste streams that would otherwise be incinerated, landfilled or processed in a less environmentally friendly manner.
It is specifically intended for parties wishing to collaborate on innovation with a view to practical application. The partnership must include at least one business.
The programme distinguishes between two types of projects.
- Research projects focus on the research and development of processes, methodologies and techniques.
- Showcases identify and eliminate bottlenecks in the value chain of a material flow within a specific (product) chain.
The total budget is EUR 40 million. The maximum subsidy is EUR 1.5 million for a research project and EUR 7.5 million for a showcase, which may be a pilot project or a demonstration project (showcase involving an investment). The implementation period is 4 years for research projects and 5 years for showcases.
