Projects under the call on Improving circularity of multilayer flexible plastic food contact packaging must look at creating a loop of recyclable food packaging, involving the full value chain from ecodesign to recycling and informing the public about proper disposal. 

Proposals should come up with mono-material multilayer flexible plastic solutions which can be recycled for use in food packaging. They should be adapted to DPPs, improve sorting, increase recycled content, and be demonstrated at industrial scale.  

They must evaluate the feasibility, effectiveness and impact of the demonstrated solutions and present data and evidence about their economic, environmental and social costs and benefits.

All relevant value chain actors must be involved, from primary and secondary raw material producers to recyclers. 

Activities are expected to achieve TRL 6-8 by the end of the project.
