ECESP Annual Conference Workshop: Promoting circular approaches to reduce food waste
Food waste represents a major economic and environmental issue worldwide, with consumers being the major source, generating more than 53% of food waste! Adopting a circular approach to food waste, instead of food redistribution, could lead to a more sustainable solution.
The workshop will show new ways of avoiding food waste, offering economic opportunities, and will underline the importance of creating synergies among the different initiatives and organisations involved in food waste reduction and platforms, such as the EU Platform on Food Losses and Food Waste.
- How can the circular economy serve as a solution to address food waste sustainably?
- Which new ways of avoiding food waste offer economic opportunities by creating synergies with other stakeholders?
