Description

The European Circular Economy Stakeholder Platform has a Coordination Group of 24 European members. This is their Work Plan for 2024.

What will 2024 bring?

The ECESP Coordination Group aims to continue working on key market segments which have impact and momentum, such as the bioeconomy, the built environment and textiles. As a stakeholder community, they use the platform’s smaller topical configurations, the leadership groups, to work on pivotal cross-cutting topics such as biodiversity and climate, economic steering instruments such as circular procurement, citizen engagement and circular behaviour.

This year, they also want to focus on European Networks and Circular Economy Hubs. They will consult the circular economy community at large and reach out to more linear businesses through the #EUCircularTalks. They will discuss issues such as the role of cities and regions as a place of action and the implementation of the European Green Deal. As implementation will be key, they will make an additional effort to reach out to SMEs and industry.

ECESP will strengthen its international outreach in 2024, as the platform will collaborate with DG INTPA’s recently announced Circular Resource Centre. Circular diplomacy at global level can become part of Europe’s trademark, creating fertile conditions for future businesses and a century of opportunity for  circular entrepreneurs in the EU and developing countries alike.

Lastly, they will look to the future and explore ways to scale up and meet the platform’s ambitions for the next mandate of the ECESP Coordination Group.
