Brazilian Circular Hotspot
Brazilian Circular Hotspot will bring together experts and business and government representatives from around the world to discuss the challenges and opportunities in transitioning to a more circular economy.
The discussions will focus on:
- Brazil's progress toward circularity
- the transformation of current production processes
- the roles of government and industry
- financing the circular transition
- necessary shifts in values and attitudes
- redesigning products, services and commercial relationships.
It is part of the events leading up to the World Circular Economy Forum, to be held in São Paulo in 2025. It aims to expand debate, promote the exchange of knowledge with international experts and lay the groundwork for action plans fostering the development of circular businesses suited to Brazil's circumstances.

- Gabriella Waibel (Policy Officer for Circular Economy at the European Commission)

- Carlos Andre Cavalcanti (Suape Complex)
- Kari Herlevi (Sitra, Finland).
The programme features panels, round table discussions, workshops and multilateral meetings. Internationally, the European Union in Brazil, the European Circular Economy Stakeholder Platform, the Greenova programme and Sitra are cooperating with the conference.
- On 6 November, the event will focus on the need to transform production processes to meet circular economy standards.
- On 7 November, panels will address the profound changes needed in the values and behaviours of businesses, governments and consumers.
- The final day will emphasise the redesign of products and services, recognising that design and innovation need to meet the principles of a circular economy.
From the private sector, representatives from companies such as Covestro, Hyundai, TOMRA and Wise Plásticos will be present. Representatives from BNDES, Finep and the World Bank will participate in discussions on financing for the circular economy. Internationally, the event will feature experts from Norway, the Kingdom of the Netherlands and Finland.
Brazilian Circular Hotspot will be held at the Cais do Sertão in Recife from 6 to 8 November. Registration is still open.
