European Commission seeks feedback on revision of criteria for sustainable economic activities
Take the chance to make the EU Taxonomy more workable for circular business models and more useful for unlocking finance, and push for criteria that are both simpler and faithful to circular economy ambition.
Until 14 April 2026, the European Commission is seeking feedback on potential revisions to the EU taxonomy criteria. The draft revisions aim to simplify the technical screening criteria, provide clarifications on how to demonstrate compliance, align them with updated EU law, and better reflect technological progress.
It aims to boost taxonomy adoption by making it easier to use, improving access to green finance in the EU, and enhancing market transparency through clearer disclosures. The changes cover most activities under the Climate and Environmental Delegated Acts, including criteria for 'substantial contribution to circular economy', forestry and environmental protection, manufacturing, energy, transport and construction, and all the generic ‘do no significant harm’ appendices.
Respond here to make the EU Taxonomy's circular economy rules easier to use, easier to prove, and more financeable in practice. The input received will be used to shape the Commission's forthcoming revision of the criteria, planned for adoption by the summer.
