Forest Bioeconomy Investment Accelerator: opportunity to discuss your project's investment readiness

The Forest Bioeconomy Investment Accelerator is a joint initiative of the European Investment Bank Group, the European Forest Institute and EFI Bioregions.

They will be holding an event on 25 November where project developers meet with investment experts to discuss investment readiness, financing pathways and ways to make forest bioeconomy projects more bankable.

Circular forest bioeconomy is one of the three thematic areas. In this area, they're looking for:

  • Projects developing innovative, resource-efficient and bio-based materials with positive environmental and social impacts.
  • Innovative solutions for wood-based construction, advanced bio-based manufacturing, sustainable textiles, cosmetics and mobility.
  • More sustainable and energy efficient processing, manufacturing and market deployment of traditional and emerging wood, cork, natural resin and other forest-based products.

Approximately 10 projects will be selected to pitch to EIB Group and other investment and technical experts.

The projects will:

  • Receive direct and personalised feedback from EIB Group, financial sector experts, and investment practitioners on your investment readiness and bankability.
  • Connect with fellow innovators, policymakers, researchers and financiers.
  • Gain insight into EIB eligibility criteria and financing instruments.
  • Become part of a growing community working to improve the financial landscape for forest bioeconomy investments across Europe.
  • Contribute to shaping practical guidance for the wider sector.

Q&A webinar will be held at 10:00 CEST on 20 May: ask questions and learn about the application process.

Submit your application by 12 June.
