This year's programme will focus on some of the key developments currently reshaping circularity in Europe: the new framework for circular competitiveness and the Circular Economy Act, the transformation of the textile sector between the Ecodesign Regulation and Extended Producer Responsibility, and the role of the Digital Product Passport and artificial intelligence in supporting circular business models.

The common thread is the link between ecodesign, emerging technologies and the transformation of the economy, value chains and consumption models. The event stems from the work of the Intelligenza Circolare observatory, which monitors national and European legislation throughout the year, documents case studies, stays abreast with eco-innovation in Italy and abroad, and nurtures a network of actors engaged in the twin transition.

The conference will bring together representatives from the European Commission, the European Parliament, the Italian Ministry of the Environment and Energy Security, the Joint Research Centre, INNOWO and the Ellen MacArthur Foundation, as well as companies, universities and research centres. 

There will be circular speeches and round tables and an eco-innovation exhibition will present selected good practices showing how circularity is already being translated into materials, products, services, processes and value chain solutions across different sectors. In this way, the event will connect the discussion on regulation and policy with experiences in the field.

The event will take place in English and Italian, with simultaneous interpretation available. It will be in person only in Rome on 1 October.
