Evidence architecture for post-use electronic assets: A capture-event model linking operational steps to buyer-readable documentation
A recurring failure in post-use electronic asset management is not the absence of good operational practice, but the absence of a record structure that carries that practice forward into documentation a buyer or auditor can read.
This report was developed based on the operational stages common to post-use electronic asset flows in Brazil, the documentation categories for European supply-chain requests, and the failure modes that arise when a record exists but cannot be joined, dated or attributed.
It sets out an evidence architecture: a model of discrete capture events along the chain from collection request to final destination, each defined by its minimum fields, the actor who produces it, the claim it can support, and the claim it cannot support.
It includes three linkage rules that identify where evidence chains break in practice (lot identity across hand-off, document-to-event join, and mass reconciliation), mapped to the Supplier Evidence Maturity Model.
The model is written for two readers: the operator designing or buying a system, and the corporate client or European buyer trying to state, in a request for information, what it actually needs to receive.
