The COP 26 (26th session of the Conference of the Parties) UN Climate Change Conference, hosted by the UK in partnership with Italy, will take place from 31 October to 12 November 2021 in Glasgow, UK. Three EU-level initiatives have decided to partner up for a project event highlighting the key role of the circular economy in fighting climate change. These initiatives are:
REPLACE, an Interreg Europe project aiming to enhance policy instruments dealing with the circular economy and to boost regional performances in the transition;
DigiPrime, an H2020 project aiming to develop a digital platform supporting the circular economy transition at industrial level;
PolicyLab, an EU-wide initiative promoting discussion about the circular economy, involving stakeholders.
The event will showcase current actions that are being deployed to support a systemic transition:
- REPLACE project: gearing policy instruments and regional budgets toward the transition;
- DigiPrime project: supporting the industrial transition;
- PolicyLab: opening up the discussion to a larger public of policymakers and stakeholders.
It will highlight the role of the circular economy in fighting climate change: the transition represents a viable solution to overcome the enormous pressure brought to bear on the environment and ecosystems by economic activities and consumption.
This event will take place on 6 November 2021 from 17:00 to 17:30 CET. You can register using this link.
