Follower Network meeting and suHCO Taxonomy Working Group launch
suHCO (Systemic Sustainability Transition Solution for Health Care Organisations through PCP) is a Horizon Europe project which began in September 2025. It addresses the common challenge of accelerating the sustainability transition in the healthcare sector through a Horizon Europe Pre-Commercial Procurement process. The project brings together three public procurers (CSC, ISRAA, HDUHB) from Spain, the UK and Italy, providing services to 6.4 million people.
The project aims to develop an AI-powered horizontal digital planning and execution-driven system enabling the healthcare sector to become more sustainable and circular. The system will adapt to the local regulatory requirements, it will be scalable and both individual healthcare organisations and entire health systems will be able to implement it. The system will also be modular, enabling specialised software companies to embed components into existing solutions. Uptake will cut material use, waste and pollution and advance One Health globally.
This workshop will:
introduce the suHCO project and its procurement approach;
outline the planned role and benefits of the Follower Network;
discuss how Followers can contribute to the Challenge Brief and future supplier feedback;
present the initial roadmap for the Follower Network; and
launch the suHCO Taxonomy Working Group, which will help identify relevant sustainability data sources, standards/protocols and terminology for health and care organisations.
The workshop will be held online at 10:00 to 11:30 CEST on 26 June. Register here.
