ECESP input reflected in EESC opinion on the Circular Economy Act
Last week, the European Economic and Social Committee adopted an opinion on the future Circular Economy Act, marking an important step in shaping the EU’s next phase of circular economy policy.
The ECESP contributed to the process through targeted expertise and wider stakeholder engagement. The co-chair of the ECESP Coordination Group, Ladeja Godina Košir, acted as an adviser to the rapporteur for the opinion, Cillian Lohan, helping to bring the platform’s practical knowledge and stakeholder perspectives into the drafting process.
The opinion also builds on broader input collected during the 2026 ECESP Annual Conference, where circular economy stakeholders from across Europe shared views, priorities and recommendations for an ambitious and effective Circular Economy Act.
Through this contribution, the ECESP continues to support an inclusive policy dialogue and to ensure that the experiences of businesses, civil society, public authorities, research organisations and circular economy practitioners inform the development of EU circular economy policy.
