On 24 January 2023, the European Commission, the Regional Council of Nouvelle-Aquitaine, its Development and Innovation Agency and its regional partners are organising the Conference Towards a greener Defence: the challenge of sustainable development for European Defence industries.

This in-person event will take place in Bordeaux, France, in the framework of the European Network of Defence-related Regions.

The conference will:

• encourage participants to exchange best practices and introduce existing solutions contributing to greening the sector and implementing the Green Deal objectives,
• enhance synergies between civil and defence companies,
• identify needs from the industry and
• introduce relevant EU programmes supporting research and development.

Workshop 1, in particular, will be devoted to the life cycle of products or services for the defence sector, from conception to recycling.

Companies, national, regional and local authorities, research institutes, and academia from EU27 and Norway are welcome to take part.
