Launch of the study on Transitioning to a circular economy: Closing the investment gap in Europe
The European Investment Bank and the European Commission's Directorate-General for the Environment are organising an event to mark the launch of their joint report on Transitioning to a circular economy: Closing the investment gap in Europe.
This report, to be launched on the eve of the European Circular Economy Stakeholder Platform's annual conference, identifies gaps and areas for action, as the European Commission prepares to issue the Circular Economy Act and the European Investment Bank prepares its strategic approach to circular economy investments.
Commission and EIB representatives will present and discuss their findings. Despite a substantial increase in the EU’s circular economy investments, a significant investment gap remains in relation to the EU’s commitments for the transition to a circular economy by 2040. The event will highlight findings in specific sectors, including construction, textiles, batteries and vehicles, as well as lifecycle stages such as design, manufacturing, consumption and end of life.
The event will close with a networking coffee.
This event will take place in person at 14:00-16:00 CEST on 21 April. Registration and programme.
