CE-RISE project annual event: How can research accelerate effective digital product passport deployment (and vice versa)
CE-RISE (Circular Economy Resource Information System) is an EU-funded project advancing the circular economy in electronics through shared data, secure systems and open sustainability tools.
It focuses on facilitating the use of digital passport systems. Project partners have developed, piloted and assessed digital passport approaches, applications and system components to demonstrate practical implementation and value creation.
CE-RISE project partners will gather in Brussels for a morning of honest conversation about where DPPs actually stand: what's working, what isn't and what needs to happen next.
The event will start with a practical crash course on benefiting from DPPs to calculate circularity indicators and life cycle assessments. Then they will open up the floor for a cross-project debate featuring partners from CE-RISE, DACE, BatCat and DigiPass. They will share how research applies DPPs to real sustainability challenges, testing assumptions and not shying away from the hard questions.
The morning will wrap up with a panel on the bigger picture: avoiding fragmentation across DPP projects, protecting IP while enabling policy learning, and discussing whether the next funding opportunities should focus on standardisation, testbeds, data quality, registries or socioeconomic impact evidence.
This is a side event of the DPP4EU Conference. It will take place in person at 08:45 - 13:00 on 1 June, at the Thon Hotel Bristol Stephanie in Brussels. Registration and programme.
