The ECESP is getting ready to select a new Coordination Group. A good opportunity for your organisation?
On 3 June 2025, the EESC President, Oliver Röpke, and the Commissioner for Environment, Water Resilience and a Competitive Circular Economy, Jessica Roswall, met at the official launch of EU Green Week to reaffirm both institutions' commitment to continuing their collaboration on the European Circular Economy Stakeholder Platform (ECESP). Mr Röpke announced the launch of the Commission's call for expressions of interest for the next Coordination Group to ensure that this stakeholder-driven platform continues to run smoothly. The deadline to apply is 30 June 2025, 17:00 CEST.
What does the Coordination Group do?
The role of Coordination Group (CG) members, appointed on behalf of their organisation, is to act as ambassadors of the ECESP and contribute to the implementation of its objectives, building on the work done in previous mandates. The members are at the heart of the Platform as they coordinate its activities. By doing so, the CG brings together all relevant stakeholders in the circular economy and bioeconomy and actively promotes their interaction to advance the circular economy and bioeconomy agenda. Each mandate lasts 2.5 years, with the next one scheduled to start in October 2025.
What kind of organisations can apply?
The new CG will be made up of up to 24 member organisations based in the EU, with up to eight from each of the following categories:
groupings/organisations of businesses, including trade unions and civil society organisations
public authorities and EU networks of public authorities
knowledge community (such as civil society organisations, think tanks, youth organisations and research centres)
