Well, EU Green Week came to a close yesterday with the Stakeholder Day organised by the ECESP and CCRI, although the partner events will continue throughout June. The day went really well, with plenary sessions, workshops and stands enabling participants to hear what policymakers had to say, listen to and put questions to experts in the field, and get together at the stands to meet other members of the circular community over a coffee or lemon water.

The day started with a bang at the high-level session, when John Bell, Healthy Planet Director at the European Commission, made the point that "Circularity is more than a plan: it's a destination", Peter Schmidt, member of the European Economic and Social Committee, said that the EU must ban sales of products which are not sustainably produced and Sirpa Pietikäinen, Member of the European Parliament, argued that the EU needs to stop financing environmentally harmful projects. Good stuff, right?

And things went on well from there: experts talking about issues that matter to them, participants (both on-site and remote) from Europe and beyond getting involved, and generally a good boost to the circular transition!

The ECESP announced that the call for expressions of interest in joining its Coordination Group was open, so if that would suit your organisation, don't forget to apply by 30 June.

We'll be adding the recordings of the day to our website early next week, so you can see for yourself if you weren't there or watching!
