Commission launches call for expressions of interest in the European Bioeconomy Investment Deployment Group
On 10 March, the European Commission launched a call for expressions of interest in participating in the European Bioeconomy Investment Deployment Group.
This is a new platform intended to accelerate investment in the EU's growing bioeconomy sector, including the circular bioeconomy.
It will bring together the European Commission, the European Investment Bank Group, national promotional banks, private financial institutions and selected investors.
The Deployment Group aims to mobilise coordinated public and private investment in order to scale up bio-based industries, strengthen the pipeline of bankable projects and improve financing tools, such as risk-sharing and blended finance.
Private and public stakeholders active in technology development, investment promotion and financing in biobased industries and associated bioeconomy value chains are invited to attend an initial meeting on 22 April in Brussels. During this meeting, the group’s objectives, scope and operating arrangements will be presented and discussed.
Organisations wishing to engage with the Deployment Group and/or participate in the meeting are invited to confirm their interest by 20 March by completing the steps outlined here.
