Description
Miogas is a Spanish company providing biodigesters and biogas plants that convert organic waste into renewable energy and fertiliser. Their solutions are tailored to families, SMEs and large companies, enabling them to reduce their CO₂ emissions and save on their energy bills.
Food scraps or animal manure are added to a chamber where they feed the bacteria there. These bacteria transform the waste into biogas that can be used for cooking or to generate electricity. The macro and micronutrients that are not transformed into gas are dissolved in the water to generate organic fertiliser.
The company supports Spain’s renewable energy targets by promoting biogas as a sustainable energy source.

- Biodigesters for families and SMEs recycle from 6 litres of kitchen scraps each day or 15 litres of animal manure to 18 litres of kitchen scraps per day or 36 litres of animal manure, and generate 2 to 6 hours of biogas per day for cooking, along with fertiliser for the garden.
- Biogas plants for hospitals, hotels and restaurants recycle from 50 kg to 12 tons of kitchen waste and 200 kg to 28 tons of manure each day, generating 33 to 8 400 kWh per day.
- One of the clients, the Viamed Santa Elena hospital, recycles around 120 kg of organic waste each day, reducing its waste by more than 50% and its CO2 emissions by more than 30 tons per year.
