XXVII International Multidisciplinary Scientific GeoConference
The SGEM (Survey, Geology, Ecology and Management) conferences focus on global warming, climate change, CO2 reduction, biodiversity, and green technologies for a sustainable future. Sustainable consumption and production, sustainable management of natural resources, and taking urgent action against climate change are key for meeting the needs of current and future generations, and this conference works towards these goals.
The 2027 conference will bring together the earth and environmental science community and provide an opportunity for international scientific discourse and cooperation in the area of GeoSciences.
The programme will comprise six main areas:
- Science and technologies in geology, exploration and sustainable mining
- Geoinformatics, remote sensing and artificial intelligence
- Water resources. forest, marine and ocean ecosystems
- Energy and clean technologies
- Ecology, environmental economics, education and legislation ecosystems
- Nano, bio, green and space technologies for a sustainable future
Energy and clean technologies will include a session on recycling, waste management and circular economy. This will cover innovative waste processing, circular industrial practices, waste-to-energy, e-waste, industrial symbiosis, materials recovery, life-cycle assessment, bio-based and recyclable materials, plastics reduction and circular economy policy.
Science and technologies in geology, exploration and sustainable mining will also address sustainable mineral processing and resource efficiency, including waste minimisation, tailings management, water reuse and circular approaches.
The call for abstracts is open until 22 March 2027. Papers must relate to one of the conference topics – read all about the submission process. The full papers must be submitted by 15 June 2027.
The organisers are also calling for workshops – the deadline for proposals is 25 May 2027.
The scientific sessions will take place on 5-11 July 2027 in Albena, and a post-conference field trip is planned for 12 July.
The event will be in English, and you can attend in person or virtually. Buy your ticket and visit the conference website for more information on topics, participation and submissions.
