ICESP: Italy's circular economy platform

Description

On 31 May 2018 ENEA (the Italian national agency for new technologies, energy and sustainable economic development), a member of the European Circular Economy Stakeholder Platform (ECESP), presented the Italian Circular Economy Stakeholder Platform (ICESP). This platform, designed to be the ECESP's mirror at national level, aims to promote the Circular Economy within Italy and share good practices from Italy throughout Europe.

The Italian Circular Economy Stakeholder Platform (ICESP), which was officially launched in the Italian Senate on 3 December 2018, is a "network of networks" bringing together circular economy initiatives, experiences, critical issues and perspectives from Italy which can be represented at European level. Its members, who range from national ministries and regional authorities to private corporations, public universities and social associations, hope to promote the Italian way for circular economy at national and international level through stakeholder collaboration.

Since its launch, ICESP members have formed six working groups that focus on:

  1. Research and eco-innovation
  2. Policy and governance
  3. Measuring the circular economy
  4. Sustainable and circular design, production, distribution and consumption
  5. Cities and territory
  6. Good practices.
