Workshop on management of used textiles
The new Circular Economy Action Plan identifies textiles as a key product value chain where there is potential to boost the EU market for sustainable and circular textiles.
The European Commission is organising a series of targeted stakeholder workshops to gather input on challenges and gaps as well as opportunities for the textile sector towards sustainability.
The first workshop on 26 May 2021, at 13.30-17.30 CEST, focuses on “management of used textiles”. The aim of the workshop is to identify issues and solutions in relation to collection, reuse and recycling of textiles and textile waste. Additionally, we will look at the importance of targets in relation to management of used textiles and textile waste and identify needs for policy measures at national and EU level.
Remaining workshops will cover topics such as sustainable consumption and circular business models; traceability; product design for circularity; information, market surveillance and product passport; global dimension of textiles; capacity for research and development; digitalisation.
