Today's packaging has to be an all-rounder: it has to protect, portion, stack and inform, it has to be practical, attractive and of course circular! Where and how do we succeed in taking consumers along with us? Where are limits and behavioral challenges and how can they be overcome?

These are some of the questions that the German Consumer Insight Action Panel on Packaging has been addressing since the end of 2019. Together, committed stakeholders from retail, recycling, services, science and civil society have set themselves the goal here of accelerating the transition to a circular economy with a focus on packaging and consumer behaviour.

Objective

This EU Circular Talk aims to share insights and impressions from the collaboration of the German-based Packaging Club, learn about experiences in other European countries and regions, and discuss implications for the future with interested European stakeholders. It will cover the following specific topics:

  • Behavioural consumer challenges when aiming for more circular packaging and how they can be addressed
  • Roles and responsibilities of different actors for circular packaging
  • The potential of multi-stakeholder learning and action clubs as enabler of the CE transformation

This webinar, featuring representatives from policy, the retail sector, NGOs, and cities, will include:

  1. knowledge sharing
  2. a panel discussion with representatives of different stakeholder groups not being part of the original Packaging Club, and
  3. the engagement of the participants.

All interested stakeholders are invited to join the talk.
