1C - Bioeconomy contributing to reaching biodiversity and climate goals
1C - Biodiversity, climate & bioeconomy
Lead organisation: Innowo, PL
This workshop explored the interconnections and interaction between bioeconomy and climate change. One focus was the systemic interconnection of bioeconomy systems, from restoring ecosystems to creation of regenerative systems that feed the bioeconomy.
Interesting good practices in bioeconomy as a tool to stop climate change and biodiversity loss from both the regional and national perspective were also presented.
Key questions
-
How can we best use bioeconomy solutions to tackle biodiversity loss and mitigate climate change?
-
How can we establish the optimal way forward? There is no “one size fits all” solution as the regions in Europe - not to mention third countries - are all different.
-
What are the challenges, barriers and opportunities and which investments, innovations and cooperation should be promoted for a more sustainable bioeconomy?
