As the world’s largest food and beverage manufacturer packaging is crucial for Nestlé. We recognize that we have an important role to play in helping to create a market for recycled plastics that can be used in food and beverage packaging. We will do this without compromising on the quality and safety of our products. Unlike a lot of other plastic packaging, food and beverage packaging has very strict requirements on what materials (and their properties) can be used to protect the product, including recycled materials. In order to ensure that there is sufficient high-quality food grade recycled plastic available to be used by industry, collectively we need to help to create a market for it. For this reason, we pledge to use more recycled plastics in PET and PE food contact applications.
