In line with the European Commission’s Circular Economy Action Plan, the European Investment Bank (EIB), as the EU bank, supports the transition to a circular economy. Its main focus is to increase lending to innovative and transformative circular economy projects and to offer circular economy advisory services to project promoters to facilitate access to finance. 

This guide aims to: 

• promote a common understanding of and the case for change to a more circular economy; 
• raise awareness about circular opportunities and solutions; 
• outline the EIB’s support for the circular economy and approach to the screening of and due diligence on circular economy projects.
