EcoService: insulating your house with waste paper!
EcoService makes sound and thermal insulation material from recycled cellulose fibres derived from post-consumer paper waste.
Thermocel takes comparatively little energy to produce. Like all bio-based insulation, it is good at slowing heat penetration: it saves energy by keeping heat out during the summer and in during the winter. Thermocel is resistant to fire, bacteria, mould, fungi, wood pests, insects and rodents, ensuring durability and long service life.
It is sprayed on, meaning that even hard to reach areas can be covered, 300-400 m² can be done in a day and there is very little waste.
EcoService supports sustainable construction by using recycled materials and reducing environmental impact during production. Thermocel is widely used in energy-efficient and passive buildings across Europe, helping to close material loops and reduce reliance on virgin raw materials.
The production process consumes approximately 10% of the energy needed to produce mineral wool and 3% of the energy used to produce polyurethane.
Thermocel has a thermal conductivity coefficient of 0.0361 W/mK. It reduces heat loss in winter and lowers indoor temperatures by 5-6 ºC in summer compared to other types of insulation.
It has a service life of approximately 50 years without loss of insulation properties.
