Biogas Thrace S.A. focuses on renewable energy solutions, transforming agricultural waste, livestock residues and industrial by-products into green energy and organic fertilisers.
The company is developing biogas plants that will use anaerobic digestion technology to recover value from organic waste streams that would otherwise create environmental challenges. Through this process, waste materials are converted into renewable electricity, biomethane and organic fertilisers, closing the loop between agriculture, energy production and soil regeneration. The plants are located near to a suitable supply of input, a suitable grid connection and a railway station and port, making logistics easier to manage and reducing the plants' carbon footprint.
Biogas Thrace is creating a complete waste circulation system: farmers are contracted to supply agricultural residues and receive organic fertiliser as a by-product, reducing reliance on synthetic fertilisers and returning nutrients to the land. The company also provides an environmentally responsible solution for managing livestock waste and industrial residuals while reducing emissions associated with conventional waste disposal.
By working with farmers, local communities, universities, and technical experts, Biogas Thrace will raise awareness of how organic waste can become a valuable resource rather than a disposal problem. Its approach demonstrates the practical application of circular economy principles through resource recovery, renewable energy generation, local economic development and improved agricultural sustainability.
