Closing the loop: Circular Economy Business Models in the Electronics and Agri-food sectors
The circular economy is at the core of the industrial transformation in Europe and the move towards more sustainable economic models. It is key to EU policy strategies like the Green Deal and economic growth and recovery, and businesses increasingly integrate it into their strategy, practices and supply chains. Despite the increasing uptake of circular business models in industrial applications, various barriers limit businesses' adoption of circular practices.
Many circular business models have been emerging in the electronics and agri-food sector to address the waste challenges, the use of resources across supply chains, the socio-economic and environmental demands, land use, energy and water consumption. However, the uptake of such circular business models has been limited compared to the scale of challenges linked to the management of waste from these two sectors.
The CIRC4Life project will address these topics at this final event. We will look into the lessons learnt from research and demonstrations and discuss the challenges and policies needed to boost more circular solutions for the electrical and electronic equipment sector and the agri-food value chain.
