MAGNO project: a data-driven approach to designing a more circular packaging value chain
The MAGNO project aims to promote the adoption of solutions reducing the impact of plastic food packaging pollution in ecosystems (soil, water, air).
Various initiatives have focused on optimising storage and distribution, but this project breaks new ground by modelling the entire food packaging process. It is examining plastic packaging value chains from manufacturing to end of life.
MAGNO is creating an ecosystem digital twin to provide innovative and circular business strategies and map scenarios for minimising waste, improving efficiency and enhancing sustainability.
MAGNO is a virtual sandbox where innovative ideas can be tested and refined before being implemented in the real world.
The MAGNO Digital Twin represents a paradigm shift in how the packaging industry approaches production optimisation and innovation. By leveraging digital technology and data-driven insights, MAGNO promises to revolutionise the way packaging is conceptualised, produced and distributed, ultimately leading to a more sustainable and efficient future.
The project will run from 1 January 2024 to 30 June 2027.
