Annual Activity Report 2019
Annual Activity Report - delivering ECESP
From the formal establishment of the European Circular Economy Stakeholder Platform in 2017 up to the third meeting of its Coordination Group in October 2019, efforts have focused on the 2019 stakeholder conference, further awareness raising, CG projects, dedicated research and the virtual platform, which is developing into a digital reference on European circular economy.
Participation in, and organisation of, supporting and complementary events has been scheduled until the end of 2019, with awareness of the Platform having gone beyond Europe, as requests to communicate the European vision on circular economy have reached ECESP from interested stakeholders in Asia, America, Australia and Africa.
The ECESP flagship event - the annual conference - was entitled Success stories and new challenges. It drew more than 1300 registrations, 550 participants on Day 1 and 350 on Day 2. On this second day of the annual conference, the Coordination Group attracted participants from 45 countries in 8 workshops featuring 57 speakers overall. In addition to the workshops, Day 2 hosted a Networking Village for the circular economy community to come together, show their projects, build contacts and develop networks.
In 2019 the EESC commissioned two studies to support the CG workplan on the request of, and in consultation with, Coordination Group members.
