CIRC project: training material and guide for teaching disadvantaged adults about the circular economy
CIRC (CIRcular City through educational circular economy methods for social enterprises) is an Erasmus + Cooperation partnership in adult education project between Slovakia, Germany, Italy, Poland, Cyprus and the Netherlands. It aims to empower adults at risk of social exclusion, such as those with low income, limited education or from ethnic minorities, by equipping them with circular economy knowledge and skills.
Tailored training materials designed for adult educators. Includes:
- Sensibilisation: building empathy,
- Circular economy: introduces concepts through frameworks like the 5 R’s (Refuse, Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Recover) and hands-on projects.
- Learning by doing: practical applications, including study visits to circular economy enterprises, role-playing and workshops.
Guide on Empowerment to foster entrepreneurship and job career in the circular economy: the guide helps educators foster new green skills, inspire community-based innovation and support inclusive job opportunities. Includes:
- Social enterprise as a place for integration and resilience: social innovations, social and vocational reintegration, and inclusive approaches for adults at risk of exclusion.
- Interlinking social and circular economy: analysis of good practices and policy examples in partner countries.
- Circular/social economy = sustainable and resilient community: linking circular principles with community well-being.
- Quadruple helix: frameworks for cooperation, community participation and innovation.
- Towards sustainability and resilience: circular and social economy in education, inclusive teaching methods, online tools and future skills for green jobs.
