Circular Economy and Resource Efficiency course package
"Circular Economy and Resource Efficiency" is part of the Green Transition of Industry and Society master's programme offered in collaboration by Sweden's University of Gävle, Dalarna University and Mälardalen University.
Taught by the University of Gävle, it is a package of four courses:
- Resource management and the circular economy
Methods for environmental assessment
Environmental impact assessment
Dealing with wicked problems of sustainability.
Students will learn how society can shift to a circular economy, using resources more efficiently and minimising waste. The courses combine theory and concepts with practical examples and practical applications of environmental and systems analysis methods to support decision making in complex transitions.
This package is organised in conjunction with packages on Climate transition from a national and international perspective and Electrification and energy systems in transition. You can choose to study just the circular economy package, but completing all three prepares you to complete a full master’s degree.
The course packages are offered across different semesters and can be studied in any order. Applicants must comply with the rules on eligibility for university studies in Sweden, including at least 120 credits, of which at least 90 credits must be in technology or natural sciences at first-cycle level.
This package is taught in English.
