Educating for sustainable plastic use and circular economy
EDU4PlastiCircular (Education for Plastic in a Circular and Climate-Neutral Economy. Preventing Waste Ending Up into the Environment) has prepared this e-learning course for managers and employees, higher education teachers and engineering students, (BSc, MSc, PhD).
It is designed to equip learners with the knowledge, skills and tools needed to understand plastic and packaging composition and management from collection to end of life, with a focus on the potential for second life through innovative solutions and responsible behaviour.
At the end of the course, learners will be able to:
- Improve their behaviour regarding plastic use and management.
- Follow the lifecycle of plastic and packaging products — from production to end-of-life — and understand their environmental impact.
- Identify and apply good practices for plastic and packaging within the circular and climate-neutral economy.
- Understand global and local policies and regulations related to plastic and packaging management in the context of a circular and climate-neutral economy, and know how to comply with them.
- Analyse the relationship between plastic and packaging management and climate change.
- Apply the knowledge and skills gained to explore and develop advanced solutions in the future.
The project has also put together an open repository of resources. The e-books, presentations, videos and best practices are designed to build green skills, promote sustainable behavior and support education, research and innovation in plastic management.
