The Interreg Greece-Italy Programme is launching the 8th Call for Small Scale Project Proposals / PART A. This includes two specific objectives: Promoting the transition to a circular and resource efficient economy and Enhancing the role of culture and sustainable tourism in economic development, social inclusion and social innovation.

The two objectives have a combined budget of nearly EUR 4.5 million. EU funds will cover 75%, with the beneficaries covering the rest of the eligible costs themselves. Specific regions from Greece and Italy are eligible (see the list in the terms of reference).

The Call will support small-scale cross-border initiatives intended to make border regions more resilient to common challenges, find shared solutions and harness the untapped growth potential in border areas.

It is open to:

• Regional and/or local public bodies,
• Bodies governed by public or private law,
• European Groupings of Territorial Cooperation.

Projects must address one of the following areas:

• Waste water collection and treatment, 
• Prevention, minimisation, sorting, reuse and recycling of household and commercial waste, 
• Promoting the use of recycled materials as raw materials, 
• Support for environmentally-friendly production processes and resource efficiency in SMEs, 
• Protection, development and promotion of public tourism assets and tourism services, 
• Protection, development and promotion of cultural heritage and cultural services.
