This call includes a sub-programme on Standard Action Projects (SAPs) for Circular Economy and Zero Pollution – Environment.

The circular economy aspect aims to facilitate the transition toward a sustainable, circular, energy-efficient and climate-resilient economy, in line with the European Green Deal and recent policy developments.

The focus areas are as follows:

Recovery of resources from waste:

This covers innovative solutions to support the roll-out of value added recycled materials, components or products.

Includes collecting, processing, reusing, remanufacturing and recycling WEEE, batteries, End-of-Life vehicles and ships,  buildings and construction, plastics, bio-waste, textiles, composite and multilayer materials, critical raw materials and packaging.

Circular economy and the environment:

This part focuses on:

Solutions that reduce or prevent resource use and waste, improve EPR schemes, mitigate environmental impacts, and support product durability, reuse and repair, the reduction of single-use products and the increase of reusable products.

Circular business models that promote value retention, limit overproduction, reduce single-use products, optimise product, asset and resource use, increase demand for secondary raw materials, and promote industrial symbiosis, the creation of circular value chains and the application of the Digital Product Passport.

EUR 79 million is available for this sub-programme. Around 31 projects will be selected, with a budget of EUR 2-20 million each.
