Asia-Pacific Circular Economy Roundtable & Hotspot

Circular Economy Hotspot is a global initiative which brings together planners and implementers of circular economy measures. In 2024, the European Hotspot was held in Wales, while global Hotspots took place on three other continents: North America (Canada), South America (Brazil) and Africa (South Africa). This year, the European Hotspot will be in Slovenia, with global Hotspots in Ethiopia, Mexico and Taiwan - the first time that a Hotspot will take place in the Asia-Pacific region.

The Asia-Pacific Circular Economy Hotspot 2025 will be organised in conjunction with the Asia-Pacific Circular Economy Roundtable (APCER) in Taipei, Taiwan. It will expand the Circular Economy Hotspot network into the Asia-Pacific region, bridge policy, practice and innovation across continents and highlight Taiwan’s proven leadership and readiness to accelerate circular change.

Taiwan will showcase its progress in circular economy policy, innovation and industry transformation. The three-day programme features forums, regional dialogues, site visits, exhibitions and networking, all centred around circular collaboration on the climate crisis. The event serves as a launchpad for actionable partnerships and long-term regional cooperation.

Programme highlights:

  • Practical knowledge: access circular economy solutions tailored to regional needs, through a combination of thematic sessions, sector ecosystem insights and immersive site visits across various circular strategies in Taiwan.
  • Policy influence: contribute to a shared platform that shapes regional policies and international standards, featuring high-level forums on developing national circular roadmaps.
  • Strategic networking: this is a great opportunity for high-quality engagement across sectors and borders, connecting decision-makers, practitioners and partners.
  • Crossover collaboration: foster cross-sector and cross-country collaboration to drive real-world impact, from governance and financing mechanisms to lifestyle transformation and global partnerships.

This international event will bring together leaders from government, business, academia and civil society across the Asia-Pacific region to explore bold strategies for the circular transition. It will take place on 20 to 23 October. Programme and registration.
