In connection with the Danish Presidency of the Council of the European Union, the University of Copenhagen and the Danish Ministry for Green Transition, on behalf of the European Commission, are hosting a conference which aims to advance the EU’s green transition through bioeconomy, food systems and biodiversity.

The conference will consider the bioeconomy in the context of the new Bioeconomy Strategy which aims to unlock the full potential of bio-based innovation, enabling Europe to take the lead in regenerative, circular and sustainable growth. The event will explore how to boost and mainstream the bioeconomy through science, innovation and governance, using and reusing all parts of biomass.

Policymakers, researchers, civil society, industry leaders and financial actors will come together to address mainstreaming the bioeconomy in EU policies and practice, boosting innovation and long-term competitiveness and securing the competitive and sustainable supply of biomass.

The programme includes the following sessions:

  • The bioeconomy generation: Building a future we can believe in
  • How do we boost the long-term competitiveness of the EU bioeconomy?
