Circular Economy Hotspot Slovenia 2025

Circular Economy Hotspot is a global initiative which brings together planners and implementers of circular economy measures. In 2024, the European Hotspot was held in Wales, while global Hotspots took place on three other continents: North America (Canada), South America (Brazil) and Africa (South Africa). This year, the European Hotspot will be in Slovenia, with global Hotspots in Ethiopia, Mexico and Taiwan.

Circular Economy Hotspot Slovenia 2025 will bring together circular economy policymakers at EU level and in Slovenia, designers of support systems and implementers of circular practices in the field.

The conference aims to drive on the circular economy and basically make more people familiar with this concept. More specifically, it will look at the circular economy from the perspective of both the competitiveness and resilience of the EU and Slovenia and the supply and demand system.

Circular Economy Hotspot Slovenia 2025 will present good business practices and pioneering circular innovation, along with the role of decision-makers designing support systems and programmes to overcome obstacles to the circular economy. Participants will talk about how the circular economy can contribute to social resilience and what role local communities, businesses and young people play in this. They will also discuss tools for strengthening circular supply and demand.

Along with networking, conference participants will be able to learn about and experience circular economy practices on site.

The conference is intended for companies from various industries, universities, students, research institutions, ministries, public utilities participating in waste management schemes, municipalities, regional development agencies, NGOs and the media.

It will take place on 10-12 September in Center Rog, Ljubljana. The plenary part of the conference will be held in Slovenian and English. Interpreting will be provided from English into Slovenian and vice versa. Parallel sessions will be held in English.
