Connecting industries and closing loops: exploring industrial symbiosis
This webinar will look at how industries can work together to use resources more efficiently, reduce waste and accelerate the transition to a circular economy.
Organised by the ECESP's Leadership Group on circular value chains, it will:
- explore industrial symbiosis and industrial-urban symbiosis and their role in enabling circular value chains,
- look at real-world examples and initiatives, from eco-industrial parts and EU-funded projects to knowledge-sharing initiatives and digital platforms supporting industrial collaboration,
- consider barriers, challenges and opportunities, including what is holding industrial symbiosis back and what can be done to unlock its full potential,
- see how insights from practitioners help inform EU policy and create the conditions needed to scale up industrial symbiosis across Europe.
The session will also introduce the group's ongoing work to map industrial symbiosis initiatives, identify key barriers and enablers and translate these findings into policy-relevant recommendations.
Whether you are a business, researcher, policymakers, practitioner or simply interested in advancing the circular economy, you are welcome to join the conversation!
This webinar will take place at 13:00-14:00 CET on 6 November via Teams. Register here.
