EuAReman 2026 is a Europe-Africa platform dedicated to remanufacturing, circular economy, industrial sustainability, advanced technologies, capacity building and new business models

This workshop aims to bring together researchers, companies, policy-oriented stakeholders, innovation actors and practitioners from Europe and Africa, with a view to strengthening dialogue and collaboration around remanufacturing as a pillar of the circular economy.

It seeks to highlight remanufacturing in Europe and Africa. It will bring together global North and South experts, researchers and practitioners to explore innovations and collaborations in this field. Europe has a limited store of raw materials and so needs to identify ways to maintain its manufacturing base by doing more with less. Africa, meanwhile, needs to industrialise with minimal resource use while reducing its manufacturing-related environmental issues.

The programme includes:

  • A keynote on Remanufacturing as a key driver for industrial sustainability,
  • The case study of an African remanufacturing company: repairing/reconditioning and remanufacturing under the same roof,
  • a case study of medical equipment remanufacturing from African and European/American perspectives, and
  • sessions on capacity building (funding and training), business models, and communication and societal adoption.

Deadline for submitting abstracts/posters: 30 June. You will be informed whether you have been accepted by 31 July.

This event will take place in person and in English on 7–9 October at CNR, Via Ugo La Malfa 153, and Palazzo Chiaramonte-Steri, University of Palermo. Buy your ticket here. Programme.
