Waste-to-Energy: an essential element for circularity
The FEAD event on 12 April from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. CET aims to demonstrate that waste-to-energy is a crucial link in the whole waste management chain and integral to the circular economy.
The whole waste-to-energy concept pushes waste processing up the waste hierarchy, to make it a key enabler for more recycling and a no-regret option for the safe treatment of non-recyclable waste. It saves CO2 emissions by replacing fossil fuels with residual waste to produce heat and electricity.
Speakers from the EU institutions and Member States, experts from the waste management sector, and stakeholders will discuss why and how future EU regulations, particularly the Taxonomy, should take a positive approach to waste-to-energy.
